Journals of the IBS Regions

Biometrical Journal

Biometrical Journal is published by the Austro-Swiss and German regions of IBS. Region members have access to this journal.

Member-Only Content

Biometrical Journal publishes papers on statistical methods and their applications in life sciences including medicine, environmental sciences and agriculture. Methodological developments should be motivated by an interesting and relevant problem from these areas. Ideally the manuscript should include a description of the problem and a section detailing the application of the new methodology to the problem. Case studies, review articles and letters to the editors are also welcome. Papers containing only extensive mathematical theory are not suitable for publication in Biometrical Journal.

The Editors are supporting reproducible research. Authors are strongly encouraged to submit computer code and data sets used to illustrate new methods. These will be published as supporting information on the journal's web page once the paper was accepted for publication.

Biostatistics & Epidemiology

Biostatistics & Epidemiology is published by the China region of the IBS. Region members have the opportunity to access this journal.

Member-Only Content

Biostatistics & Epidemiology is the official publication of the International Biometric Society – Chinese Region. The journal provides a platform for the dissemination of new statistical methods and the promotion of good analytical practices in biomedical investigation and epidemiology.

The journal has four main sections:

  • Method and Theory – Papers should contain new statistical methods and theory that are motivated by real clinical applications.
  • Applications – Papers should provide comprehensive examples from biomedical sciences and epidemiology and clearly articulate the appropriateness of the chosen statistical methods in addressing significant clinical or research questions.
  • Software and Computing – Papers should highlight the utilization of software/computing algorithms in statistical methods related to biomedical science and epidemiology.
  • Tutorials – Papers should be educational pieces or critical reviews of statistical methods in important and emerging areas of biomedical science and epidemiology.
  • Case studies of substantial scientific and methodological importance are also welcomed.

Proposals for special issues are encouraged, and should be discussed with the Editor-in-Chief.

Brazilian Journal of Biometrics

Access Brazilian Journal of Biometrics

The Brazilian Journal of Biometrics (BJB) is published by the Brazilian Region of the IBS. The BJB is open access and does not have article processing charges.

The Brazilian Journal of Biometrics (BJB) serves as a platform for the dissemination of original research papers that explore, promote, and extend statistical, mathematical, and data science methods in applied biological sciences.

With a focus on fostering collaboration between statisticians and scientists, BJB welcomes submissions from diverse fields within biology, including agriculture, animal sciences, ecology, forestry, food science, genetics, plant breeding, livestock, medicine, public health, soil science, veterinary science, and wood science, among others. The journal serves as a valuable resource for researchers and practitioners who utilize statistical methods to address key challenges and advance knowledge in these fields.

The BJB follows a double-blind review process and encourages reproducible research. The authors are recommended to submit the data and code used in the papers that will be available as supplementary material on the journal's website.

The BJB publishes special issues in thematic areas related to the scope of the journal. Proposals should be sent to the Editor-in-Chief.
