GEOMED is a bi-annual, international, interdisciplinary conference on spatial statistics, geographical epidemiology and public health. The conference focuses both on the developments in methodology and the applications of methods for spatial and spatio-temporal data in public health. GEOMED 2024 is organized by the Data Science Institute of Hasselt University (Belgium). It will take place in Hasselt, a beautiful city in Belgium, from 9 until 11 September 2024.
The selected key topics for this edition are: - Geographical modeling of infectious diseases - Geographical modeling of health in low-income countries - Environmental epidemiology and climate change
Next to this, a range of topics will be represented. They include (but are not limited to): - Geo-referenced health data - Disease mapping - Risk assessment for public health - Computational methods for analysis of spatial and spatio-temporal data - Visualization methods - Geostatistical modeling - Spatial and spatio-temporal health surveillance - Novel methodology for spatial data - Deep learning methods for spatial data analyses - Cluster detection and epidemic outbreaks
