The British and Irish Region held a meeting at King’s College London on 23 April 2026. Marking the Centenary of RA Fisher’s landmark paper “The Arrangement of Field Experiments”, the meeting focussed on the design of experiments in modern biometrics. Fisher (1926) introduced, at least in outline form, many of the methods that are still being extended today, including randomisation and its relationship with data analysis, replication, blocking, factorial treatment structures and confounding.
