The International Biometric Society (IBS) invites abstracts for contributed oral and poster presentations for the 2022 International Biometric Conference (IBC2022) to be held in Riga, Latvia from 11-15 July 2022. Abstracts may be submitted online through 30 September 2021.

The mission of the IBS is ‘to promote the development and application of statistical and mathematical theory and methods in the biosciences, including agriculture, biomedical science and public health, ecology, environmental sciences, forestry and allied disciplines.’ Contributions at the conference are therefore welcome across a wide range of both methodological topics and application areas relevant to the Society’s mission.

Submissions from a broad range of perspectives are encouraged. The following link provides an indication of the methodological topics and application areas that have been covered at previous conferences and will be covered at the upcoming conference: Methodological Topics & Application Areas

All abstracts must be submitted online. No other forms of abstracts are permissible.

Each abstract submission must include the title, list of authors and author affiliations, and abstract, with each submission having a maximum length of 2,500 characters. In the abstract submission process, authors are requested to select up to three methodological topics and one application area from the list above that are most relevant to the abstract. The number of oral abstract submissions with the same presenting author is limited to one.

All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the IBC2022 International Program Committee and presenting authors will be informed of the status of their abstract (oral presentation, poster presentation, rejection) by February 2022.

All accepted contributed oral presentations will be assigned to a 12-minute slot within a particular scientific session, with each session lasting 90 minutes, and therefore containing six oral presentations and time for discussion. All poster presentations will also be allocated to a particular scientific poster session. Presenting authors are expected to be present at their posters.

All presenting authors must have registered for the conference by early bird registration deadline date for their presentation to be included in the conference program.

Following on from the success of the awards made at the last IBC, we will again be awarding prizes for the Best Student Oral Presentation(s) and the Best Poster Presentation(s).
