Our History
The IBS-Cameroon Region established on 02th May, 2023 is a current and active region of the IBS. The idea to establish the Region was conceived by Dr. Yankam Mbouamba Brenda who was a participant at the 31st International Biometric Conference (IBC2022), which was held in Riga, Latvia from 10 to 15th July, 2022.
The IBS-Cameroon Region supports the Sub-Sahara African Network (SUSAN), which is a network of national biometric groups of the Sub-Saharan Africa countries that aims to promote the advancement of life sciences through development, application and dissemination of effective mathematical and statistical methods to its members and collaborating partners. This includes applications in agriculture, medical and health research, infectious diseases, environment and ecology, climate, and other applied sciences such as the areas of statistical genetics and bioinformatics.
