International Regions & Networks

Our History

In 1953, the Japanese Group of the International Biometric Society was formed by the subscribers of Biometrics and grew to become the Japanese Region in 1979. The general objective of the society is to devote every effort to the development of the mathematical and statistical aspects of biology and medicine.

The Japanese Region is also a member of the East Asian Network of the IBS, whose main purpose is the scientific exchange of information and the strengthening of biometry in East Asia and the surrounding Regions.
